Everett School District to hold instructional materials open house

The Everett School District invites students, families, staff, and community members to review new French, Advanced Placement Studio Art, and Psychology instruction materials on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at the Community Resource Center from 3:00 to 7:00 pm.

The Everett School District invites students, families, staff, and community members to review new French, Advanced Placement Studio Art, and Psychology instruction materials on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at the Community Resource Center from 3:00 to 7:00 pm. 

Participants are wanted to review these materials and leave written comments. The adoption teams will review all feedback as part of the instructional materials review process.

Every year, teachers review instructional materials to evaluate how well they support teaching and learning state standards, course objectives, course themes, and content. This year the focus is on French language, Advanced Placement Studio Art, and Psychology courses.

Teams of teachers have been evaluating how well these materials support teaching and learning state standards, 21st century skills, course objectives, and content.

Now the teams want to know what you think of the materials. On Wednesday, March 13th, students, families, staff and community members are invited to explore these materials and leave written comments. The adoption teams will review all feedback as part of the instructional materials review process.

“We are excited to share the materials we are reviewing,” said Georgia Lindquist, who oversees humanities and literacy curriculum in the district.

She went on to say, “We get valuable perspectives from the open house sessions and it’s always a pleasure to share with others the options students have today to learn, including access to online resources that high school students can access with their own laptops.”
