By Cyndy Gallacher, Mill Creek Women’s Club Publicity Chair.
The Mill Creek Women’s Club closes out the 2020-2021 season with the election of new officers along with a favorite local author.
While the MCWC takes a break for the summer, we are hopeful to be able to come together in person again in the fall at our first meeting after the summer break on September 15, 2021, at 11:00 am.
Providing that we can move forward, we will resume luncheon meetings at the Hilton Garden Inn, 22600 Bothell-Everett Hwy., Bothell, WA.
It will be so wonderful to see each other again. We are monitoring the Governor’s announcements as to meeting indoors and the number of persons allowed to meet in that format. We are planning eventful programs and speakers for your enjoyment. We are hoping to resume in person socials, Bunco, Book Clubs, Craft Groups, Card Game Groups and other specialty groups.
We continue to actively contribute to the well-being of the community through philanthropic efforts. The MCWC continues to support Snohomish County Domestic Violence Services, Dawson Place Child Advocacy Center, the Mill Creek Food Bank, YWCA Pathways for Women, and YWCA Working Wardrobe.
We are pleased to announce that the Mill Creek Women’s Club has awarded the Mill Creek Community Food Bank a $2,500 Matching Gift! This gift will be used towards their Capital Campaign for a much-needed food storage building. They will be calling it The Hope Creek Barn (Hope Creek Charitable Foundation runs the Food Bank).

- Virtual Zoom Program
Our last Program of the 2020-2021 Season, and with any luck, our final VIRTUAL program! Our guest speaker will be the talented author, Noelle Salazar.
Noelle Salazar was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, where she's been a Navy recruit, a medical assistant, an NFL cheerleader and always a storyteller.
As a novelist, she has done extensive research into the Women Airforce Service Pilots, interviewing vets and visiting the training facility—now a museum dedicated to the WASP—in Sweet-Water, Texas.
Noelle lives in Bothell, Washington, with her husband and two children. "The Flight Girls" was her first novel. When she’s not writing, she can be found dodging raindrops and daydreaming of her next book.
She’ll be with us in person on the Virtual Zoom call to share stories of her latest book release.
We hope that you will consider joining us for the 2021-2022 season. The membership fee is $50 per year. We are hoping to be able to meet in person for lunches later this year.
