Yesterday, the Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit (SIU) detectives, with assistance from the Violent Offender Task Force (VOTF), arrested a 36-year-old Snohomish man for Rape 1st Degree, Kidnapping 1st Degree, Robbery 1st Degree, and Assault 2nd Degree.
On July 8th, deputies responded to the 2100 block of 180th Street SE for reports of an assault.
Upon arrival, deputies learned the victim, a 31-year-old woman, had been walking near the 100 block of 194th Street SE in Bothell earlier that morning when she was approached by two men, thrown to the ground, pistol whipped, robbed of her possessions, and sexually assaulted.
The victim was then zip tied, duct taped, blindfolded, and forced into a vehicle. She was held at gunpoint and driven approximately 11 blocks to an apartment complex in Bothell where she was pushed out of the vehicle.
The victim was later seen walking down the road and a nearby resident contacted her and called 911. The victim was transported by aid to the hospital with serious injuries.
Throughout the investigation, SIU detectives learned three adult males were involved in the planned attack on the victim.
Two of the suspects were arrested on July 8th by the Snohomish County Violent Offender Task Force; a 35-year-old Bothell man was arrested and booked for Robbery 1st Degree, and a 27-year-old Bothell man was arrested and booked for Kidnapping 1st Degree and Robbery 1st Degree.
The third suspect, a 36-year-old Snohomish man, was located and arrested by the Violent Offender Task Force at an apartment on Madison Street in Everett at around 2:00 pm on Thursday, July 15th.
He was transported and booked into the Snohomish County Jail for Rape 1st Degree, Kidnapping 1st Degree, Robbery 1st Degree, and Assault 2nd Degree.
During a search of the apartment, detectives recovered two guns; one is believed to be the gun used in the assault, robbery, rape, and kidnapping, and the second gun was reported stolen out of Seattle in 2020. Detectives also recovered additional narcotics from inside the apartment.
During the investigation, detectives developed additional information and anticipate charging one of the suspects with Arson 1st Degree related to the investigation.
This remains an active investigation.
