With temperatures expected to rise Saturday and Sunday, Snohomish County Road Maintenance crews will transition this weekend from a 24/7 operation to regular shifts.  Crews will continue to sand to improve traction on icy roads through Saturday, focusing on secondary and tertiary routes.

Brandy Donaghy appointed to take John Lovick’s place in State House of Representatives

On Wednesday, December 15th, the Snohomish County Council voted to appoint Donaghy to the seat made vacant by Rep. John Lovick’s move to the state senate.  She joins Lovick and Rep. April Berg as the first all-Black delegation to represent the 44th District and only the second all-Black delegation in the state’s history.

Snohomish County to implement sales tax increase to fund affordable housing

The 0.1% sales tax increase authorized by a majority of the Snohomish County Council on Wednesday, December 15th, will more than double affordable housing production over the next five years.  Executive Somers will sign the ordinance and collection of the $0.01 tax per $10 purchase will start in April 2022.

Snohomish County staff provides some useful tools and helpful tips to prepare for any snow and ice events for those venturing through unincorporated Snohomish County this winter. Roads will be kept clear on a priority basis.
